Recommended Connection

Connect to ChatLife in seconds.

Point your IRC client to the ChatLife network hostname. It is the recommended way to connect because it contains current IPv4 and IPv6 records for the network.

Your first connection

Choose an IRC client Use ChatLife WebChat or an IRC application such as mIRC, HexChat, WeeChat or another compatible client.

Enter the ChatLife hostname Use irc.chatlife.net as your server address rather than manually selecting an individual server.

Select your connection port Use TCP 6667 for standard IRC or TCP 6697 for a TLS / SSL encrypted connection.

Join the conversation Once connected, choose a channel and start chatting with the ChatLife community.

Troubleshooting

Something not working?

Start with these common connection and account checks before contacting support.

Can't connect?

Check that you are using irc.chatlife.net with TCP 6667 or TLS 6697 and that your IRC client supports the selected connection type.

Nickname problem?

Make sure you are using your registered nickname and identify with NickServ when required.

Can't join a channel?

The channel may have access restrictions, registration settings or moderation controls.

TLS connection issue?

Use port 6697 and enable SSL/TLS in your IRC client. ChatLife client servers use Let's Encrypt certificates.

WebChat not loading?

Refresh the page and verify that your browser permits the connection. You can also try another supported browser.
